Digicova is a blog dedicated to the four images you see above – Digital art, Comics, Video Games and Anime. Wondering why those four? Well, they are intertwined or becoming intertwined in my opinion.
For example If you are a fan of video games, you might come across a cool concept art or wallpaper, which is digital art piece. Comics are now blockbuster movies and critically acclaimed video games (aww the awesome Batman Arkham Asylum!). They are also evolving to the point where digital comics are now available for tablets and phones.
And let’s not forget what makes comics so awesome apart from the great stories, the art. Comic artists have always used digital platforms in some way to enhance their work, in a way comic artists are digital pioneers!
Now this leaves Anime.I’ve been a big fan of anime since I was a kid and the fan base is growing. Hell, even the comics industry are taking note with Marvel releasing X-men, Blade, Wolverine and Iron Man as anime properties.
So what does this all mean? I would say no longer are these entertainment fields confined just for geeks or “otakus” – comics, video games, digital art and anime are all becoming part of our every day entertainment lives and why should they stay separate? It’s a culture on its own.
This is why I created Digicova, a blog where I can share my interests and connect with other fans of these platforms. Wouldn’t it be great to access everything in one place?
The design of the site also followed this mentality, I wanted a design that appealed to fans and was easy to browse. I wanted to avoid a text heavy site but be visual for the user. What do you guys think?
So feel free to browse the site and follow me on Twitter or Facebook. I do encourage comments and I’m very open to submissions and feedback.
If you’ve got an article or would like to be featured on the site, more than happy to share and give you credit. Just drop me a line.
I guess I’ll shut up now and let you guys browse the site. Once again, welcome to Digicova!
